SABAH & SARAWAK NEED YOUR HELP

DONATE NOW

Malaysians from Sabah and Sarawak need funds to head back to their hometown to vote.

JomBalikUndi (JBU), KOMAS and Focus on Sarawak (FOS) appeal to all Malaysians, ex-Malaysians and democracy supporters everywhere to donate. If you are not a voter for GE13, you can do the next best thing: help a Malaysian who can’t meet the cost of travelling home to vote in East Malaysia.

Q: Are funds only for Malaysians from Sarawak and Sabah?
A: Yes

Q: Can I be an anonymous sponsor?
A: Yes – but get permission to use someone else’s name to donate. All donations MUST be made through a real person.

Q: What will my donation pay for?
A: We aim to cover return-trip air travel costs for each individual; travel-cost receipts will be compulsory.

Q: Are there priority recipients?
A: Donations are primarily for low-paid workers and college/university students who are preferably voters in rural areas.

Q: Are there eligibility conditions for fund recipients?
A: Yes. Recipients must be registered voters. Completion of training as Pemantau/polling/counting agent is required and recipients will then be able to monitor voting activity and help ensure voting/democratic rights.

Q: Will there be a post-campaign report to all donors?
A: Yes. We will provide a full report through the email address you use to make your donation.

Q: Who is responsible for receiving, distributing and recording all funds?
A: Komas will receive funds via its Paypal account and co-partner FOS will assist in disbursing and recording funds received.

Q: What are KO MAS and Focus On Sarawak?
A: KOMAS is a Malaysian NGO. It aims to empower indigenous people, urban poor, workers and civil society organisations to advocate for human rights. KOMAS started JomBalikUndi Bah. www.facebook.com/JomBalikUndiBah

Focus On Sarawak is a collective of Malaysians concerned for social justice and righteousness to flow like a mighty river for the indigenous communities of Sarawak.

Malaysia’s future is around the corner: it’s in your hands!
