15 September 2016 Bersih 2.0 has announced that the Bersih 5 rally will take place on 19 November 2016. Prior to the rally, the Bersih Convoy will depart from 6 different states on 1 October 2016. The nationwide convoy will spend 7 weeks travelling to 246 cities, towns and villages across the country to raise awareness about the Bersih 5 demands for institutional reforms and the severity of the 1MDB crisis.
