Malaysian elections must be free and fair.
The ACTU notes that general elections have been called in Malaysia for Sunday 5 May. It is our sincere hope that the elections are fair and free and that the people’s choice is respected.
Journalists and observers must also be free to carry out their duties, and all political parties must have fair and free access to print and TV media. Malaysia’s 13th General Elections will determine the country’s direction in coming years. It is vital
that these elections are free of political violence and the results are respected as a democratic outcome of the people’s choice.
