WHO is DBKL to stop the people from using what rightly belongs to them???

DATARAN MERDEKA (Independence Square) was THE place where THE PEOPLE gathered to declare and celebrate independence. Similarly Bersih 3.0 Rally is a gathering of the PEOPLE to declare and celebrate that their aspirations. The SPIRIT is the same now as in 1957.

DBKL cannot override and overrule the people’s aspirations. DBKL is just the caretaker of the dataran. It is the people who decide what they want to do in the dataran, especially for a cause which has great national implications. If that is not a national affair, what is?????????

It is clear to one and all that DBKL is carrying out the instructions of their bosses in Putrajaya to disallow the people to gather in dataran merdeka. Hisham is playing politics behind the scene. Why should he be telling DBKL to do this and that after saying Bersih 3.0 is not a security threat and so on and so forth? Isn’t that political muscling? He should just keep quiet!

All reasons give by DBKL not allowing Bersih 3.0 to be held at the dataran are pure nonsense.

On the contrary they should have been more forthcoming and receptive towards the event, they could help plan traffic flow, facilitate crowd control, and even lend a hand in making the event a festive one by encouraging traders to sell light foodstuff and drinks, highlight the achievement of the city, announce their plans and dreams to one and all, especially to visitors from all over the country, etc., etc., if they are concerned about the well-being of the business community and that of the visitors.

DBKL should strive to make the city a truly cultural, traditional, competitive, innovative and vibrant LIVING city. And event such as Bersih 3.0 presents such a unique opportunity to showcase the city. The world would come to recognize the KL as a modern city that tolerates differences as well as diversity of school of thoughts.

Stop all those political patronage and nonsense to be relevant, DBKL! Political masters behind the scene: Keep your dirty hands off! And do not insult our intelligence. The capital city is ours, NOT yours to meddle with. We make and keep the city alive, not you. Stay in your posh office, keep your hands clean, and watch us make the nation. If you do not wish to be involved, do not also stop us.

Bravo! Well said. You’ve said all that the ordinary citizens want to say. If I might just add; to the Malaysian government ”you may fool some of the people some of the time, most of the people most of the time, but not all the people all the time”.

Good day, I’m pretty disappointing with the way EC handles this 13th General Election. I really hope that the appeal could be accepted by the court. If worse comes to worse and all fails, I would like to offer my help in up coming event for Bersih organisation in Japan. I used to be passive but this is enough and in fact it is too much. I could not just sit and wait for other to fight for our country democracy. I think it’s time for me to stand up and take part in it as well. May all truth prevails and MAY WE HAVE A BETTER FUTURE.
